"Still Out": The Story of Those Who Stay Outside

In autumn, the cold sets in and the days grow shorter, but the urge to get outside remains. The “Still Out” campaign from Passenger celebrates those moments that make us lose track of time and make us want to stay outdoors just a little longer.

Autumn does not mark the end of adventures: it transforms their setting and rhythm. Trails become carpeted with leaves, the morning air turns crisp, and the days grow shorter. As the light fades, nature becomes quieter, but no less welcoming. For those who love the outdoors, the season continues—all it takes is appreciating the new colors and dressing for the cooler days.

Habits change too. We head out for a run before sunrise, extend a hike despite overcast skies, or set up camp as the temperature begins to drop. These outings sometimes require a bit more preparation, but they offer another way of experiencing the outdoors: more mindful, more peaceful, punctuated by details we don’t always notice in summer.

Then come those moments that linger in the memory. A conversation around the campfire that stretches long after dinner. The silence of a trail in the early morning, broken only by the sound of footsteps. Or, for the bolder ones, a plunge into icy water while frost blankets the landscape. Nothing extraordinary on the surface, and yet, these moments take on a special meaning because we chose to live them fully.

On these days, a familiar fleece quickly becomes an ally. You slip it on before heading out, keep it close at hand during a break, and then put it back on when the wind picks up. It moves with you, accompanies pauses, and endures long evenings outside. It is not just an extra layer against the cold: it is the garment associated with those precious hours spent outdoors.

It is from this desire to prolong the moment that "Still Out" was born. The campaign tells the story of those who do not go home as soon as night falls or the temperature drops. They choose to stay a little longer, to watch the flames dance, to listen to the sounds of the evening, and to enjoy the company of others. Over the ease of heating, the couch, or scrolling on a screen, they prefer the simple richness of a moment lived outdoors.

“Still Out” is an invitation not to let the cold decide the end of the day. No need to seek performance or brave the elements at all costs: it’s simply about savoring what makes each outing unique. One last chat, a few more steps, a moment of silence beneath the autumn sky. Because the season doesn't stop when summer fades: its pace simply changes, and there is always a good reason to stay outside a little longer.
